This could have spelled doom for most games. But the studio took the extra resources to deliver a highly balanced and engaging competitive multiplayer mode, one that is among the best we’ve seen this generation. Apex legends
As we will include all kinds of shooters in this list, one of the currently dominant sub-genres is the Battle Royale, in which a hundred players face each other. And ‘Apex Legends’ was created by Respawn Entertainment, creators of sagas like ‘Titanfall.’ The game is set in the same universe.
The title retains the great hallmarks of Respawn, such as a high speed of action and a quality of the final result that is through the roof. You will find heroes with different abilities in the game, and you can return to the game once you have died, thanks to its curious and well-designed respawn system.
In this list, you will see many subgenres that are repeated, such as Battle Royale. The title does not have any pay-to-win mechanics, but micropayments are focused on cosmetic accessories like many others. The game offers a good variety of maps, game modes, and weapons to choose from so that players can feel comfortable regardless of the style they want to play with.
Call to arms
This is a peculiar game, a mix of genres that might not be on this list, but that is because it also offers the possibility of shooting in the first person. Although what it is really about is a mix between real-time strategy and third-person game, with the possibility of controlling your soldiers.
The free game focuses on online games, although a paid version also adds downloadable content and single-player content.
